Yesterday I was so stressed out keeping Emma out of the garage. I couldn’t figure out what she wanted in there. I put her in the greenhouse by herself for an hour or so and went back to check on her. There was an EGG! We didn’t know she was laying. I’m really glad I had her in there by herself so I know it was her egg. She seemed to like the privacy to lay her egg.  I now wonder if some of the “Rosie” eggs might have been hers.

The Cherokee Purples I started 3 weeks ago seem pretty big! I started them right into the 4′ pots with seedling soil. I’ve been wondering whether to start all my seeds right into the pots instead of starting them in egg cartons. The plants seem to get bigger faster. It did dawn on me though that starting them in the egg cartons with seedling soil and then transplanting them into the 4″ pots with potting soil saves money.
